San Francisco was so much fun! We started off our day at The Ferry Building (http://www.ferrybuildingmarketplace.com/) with breakfast and coffee. From there, we took the trolly down the coast and rented bikes for our bike tour of the Golden Gate Bridge. We biked along the beach and wound our way up to the bridge, crossed over the bridge and down into Sausalito (http://www.sausalito.org/) caught the ferry which took us by Alcatraz and to Peir 49. After we got to Peir 49, we caught a cab to Haight-Ashbury for lunch and a local beer. We walked around The Haight and saw lots of interesting sights! I purchased a tie-dye shirt in the neighborhood...you can't go to Haight-Ashbury without buying something tie-dye! After wondering around The Height, we caught a cab to Lombard St. to see "the crookedest street in the world." It was very crooked and very busy! There were cars lined up for miles to drive down it! After walking down Lombard St. we made our way back to our hotel passing through Little Italy and Chinatown. After a quick rest and shower at the hotel, we made our way back to Little Italy for a relaxing dinner after a very busy day! On Sunday, we got up early and made our way down coastal Highway 1. We saw early morning surfers and beautiful views of the ocean and coast. We wound our way up to Big Basin State Park (http://www.bigbasin.org/) to see coastal redwoods, the largest and oldest trees in California. From there, we made our way back to the airport and back to Dallas. It was a very full weekend, but well worth it! San Francisco is such a wonderful city and I can't wait to go back with I have a proper tour guide, Deanna!
